CDO LATAM hosted the master class “Introduction to Agile & SAFe,” which was attended by professionals from across the region.
On Wednesday, January 28, the virtual master class “Introduction to Agile & SAFe” was held, organized by CDO LATAM and streamed via Zoom. The session brought together professionals interested in gaining a deeper understanding of agile methodologies and the frameworks that enable the scaling of technology development within complex organizations.
The master class was led by Jean Bernard Rolland, Chief Technology Officer at HayCash and a member of CDO LATAM, who shared his practical experience applying agile methodologies in corporate environments and tech startups.
The session explored the historical context of the Agile movement, its evolution from traditional methodologies such as the Waterfall model, and the emergence of the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) as a response to the challenges of coordination and strategy in organizations with multiple development teams.
The discussion also addressed some of the most common challenges organizations face when adopting Agile at scale, including a lack of communication between teams, the absence of a shared strategic vision, difficulty aligning technology development with business objectives, and limited predictability in delivering results.
The master class also covered the fundamental principles of SAFe, including coordination among teams through Program Increments (PI), joint goal planning, structured risk analysis, and aligning development with business value metrics.
The event concluded with an open Q&A session, during which participants were able to exchange views on the practical application of these methodologies in various sectors and organizations.
Through these types of training activities, CDO LATAM continues to foster opportunities for learning and discussion to strengthen the community of data, technology, and innovation leaders in Latin America.
